Thousands at Kobanê border for Eid

Thousands of people are heading to the border with Kobanê in order to join the resistance Eid against the attacks by ISIS gangs on Kobanê. In the early hours of the morning they performed the Salat al-Eid prayer, which is a ritual of Muslims on holy days, at the border.

The vigil of the people of north Kurdistan to protest the attacks by the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham) gangs on Kobanê and in order to protect the resistance of Kobanê are continuing at the border. Thousands of people will spend their Eid at the border, where they performed the Salat al-Eid in the early hours of the morning after an anxious night.

The people keeping vigil in Etmanik village where is opposite Kobanê, where clashes continued until the morning, celebrated Eid.

Many people spent the night at the vigil on the border after the KCK called on the people for a resistance Eid. They followed the clashes until the early hours of the morning. In the morning, some of the people went to the mosques near the border in order to perform the Salat al-Eid, while many others performed the Salat at the border near their positions. They opened their hands and prayed to God for Kobanê.

Sermons were read by the religious authorities in the mosques in the region for Eid and the attacks by the ISIS gangs on Kobanê and the cruelty of them was condemned. The people prayed for the victory of the YPG fighters. The resisters build a fire and gathered around it because of the cold night.

Women coming to the border spent the night in prayer. The youths increased their security measures at the border yesterday.
Meanwhile, heavy clashes occurred around Kobanê during the night. Many positions of ISIS gangs were destroyed. However, some of these positions started shelling Kobanê.

It is reported that security measures have been increased prior to a visit to the area by Urfa mayor Celalletin Güvenç and some government ministers, making it difficult to move in the district.
