Thousands of people in Diyarbakýr have joined a march to protest against the ongoing detentions of Kurdish politicians and activists. The march was attacked by police.

Among the crowd were BDP Diyarbakýr deputies Nursel Aydoðan, Altan Tan, Emine Ayna, as well as Batman MP Ayla Akat Ata, Aðrý MP Halil Aksoy and DTK co-chairs Ahmet Türk and Aysel Tuðluk.

In the past few days nearly a thousand people have been taken into custody in different cities. In Diyarbakýr alone, yesterday, over ten people have been taken into custody.
