Three members of the Revolutionary High School Students (DEV-LIS), who protested the increase by 40% in the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YSK), in Kadıköy, Istanbul by closing the traffic, were beaten and taken into custody.
Young DEV-LIS members asked to immediately withdraw the increase and opened a banner saying "We are students, not customers".
Police attacked the DEV-LIS members who closed the traffic road for about 10 minutes. Three young students were beaten and taken into custody. People gathered around the police and tried to defend the students.
The three DEV-LIS members were named as Bünyamin Süskü, Yıldız Idil Şen and Berivan Han.
