TJK-E and KCDK-E call on people to take to the streets against Turkish attacks

TJK-E and KCDK-E said in a statement that the Turkish attacks have reached a dangerous level by directly targeting women and other civilians and called on people to take to the streets.

The European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E) and the European Kurdistan Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) condemned the Turkish state's bombings targeting civilians in Basûrê Kurdistan with a joint statement and called on the Kurds living abroad to take to the streets and protest.

The statement condemned the Turkish state’s repeated attacks in Bashure Kurdistan, as well as the targeting of a JIN TV vehicle on the Qamişlo-Amude road, and the killing of 4 civilians in Bradost.

The statement said: "We strongly condemn these attacks, which coincided with the meeting of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan with the Bashur government. We protest the killing of free Kurdish women, the same women who cleared the Middle East and Kurdistan land from ISIS. These attacks are targeting the civilian population, and we protest the Iraqi and Bashur governments, that remained silent about this.

These bloody attacks against civilians in the region impose a responsibility on international parties to fulfil their conscientious and moral duties. They cannot stand under this burden by remaining silent and being spectators. Responsibilities brought by the basic principles of international law, conventions and human rights must be fulfilled immediately."

Attacks have reached a dangerous level

The statement added that "the crimes carried out by the Turkish state in the region have become permanent. These crimes have reached dangerous levels that directly target civilian life and women. Journalists who document the Turkish state's criminal violations in the region are targeted and sought to be silenced. International institutions must take a clear stance against these attacks and take immediate action."

Call to act

The TJK-E and KCDK-E called "on our people living abroad to take immediate action against these genocidal attacks, to expose these massacre attacks and the misogynistic Turkish state in public, and to show their protests in all of Europe, Canada and Australia."
