TJK-E and KCDK-E organise four-week sit-in protest in Strasbourg

TJK-E and KCDK-E have called on Kurds and their friends in Strasbourg to join the sit-in to begin on 12 May against isolation of Öcalan, the Turkish occupation Kurdistan and the bounty imposed by the US on Kurdish Freedom Movement’s leading members.

The isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the Turkish state's invasion attacks on South Kurdistan and the bounty imposed by the US State Department on three revolutionaries of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, are being protested all over the world, especially in the four parts of Kurdistan.

TJK-E (Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe) and KCDK-E have announced a sit-in protest beginning on 12 May in Strasbourg. The action will last four weeks with the slogan “Against the occupation and genocide Avashin, Zap, Metina everywhere. Dema Dema Azadiye!"

The new actions will take place where the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil is carry out every week, in front of the European institutions. The protest will begin with a press conference at 1 pm followed by a mass action and march promoted by TJK-E on 12 May.

The action will start in front of the Council of Europe and end with statements to be made in front of the US Consulate.

After the first day of protest against the bounty imposed by the US State Department on three Kurdish revolutionaries of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, the sit-in protests will continue with the participation of Kurdish institutions in Europe and friends of the Kurdish people.

The silence of the European states against the massacres carried out by the Turkish state against the Kurdish people and the occupation of Kurdistan will also be protested. The sit-in will continue between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays.
