Stephen Smellie lives in Scotland and is an activist in the public services union UNISON and a member of their National Executive Council and International Committee. He was part of a UNISON delegation to Turkey in 2019 and again in February this year to observe the trial of the KESK trade union confederation. He is the trade union liaison officer for Peace in Kurdistan and founder of Scottish Solidarity with Kurdistan.
