The trial of Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block Van deputy Aysel Tuðluk, accused of disseminating propaganda for the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) in 12 separate speeches, continued in Diyarbakýr. While Tuðluk’s lawyer demanded the stay of the case as Tuðluk was elected a deputy, the court board decided to get Tuðluk’s legislative mandate from Van Election Board.
The hearing of DTK Co-Chair and Van Deputy Aysel Tuðluk was continued at Diyarbakýr 4th High Criminal Court. Tuðluk was put on trial with an arrest demand for 75 years.
Tuðluk’s lawyer Fethi Gümüþ was present at the hearing which wasn’t attended by Tuðluk herself. Gümüþ demanded the stay of the case and sending the file to the Parliament in accordance with the 83th article of the Constitution.
The court wrote a consultation letter to Van Provincial Election Board and asked a sample of the mandate issued for Tuðluk.
The court decided to grant time for the counsel for the prosecution to prepare a consideration about Tuðluk and adjourned the trial to a later date. (F.D.)
