Turkey digging ditches at Kobanê border

As the vigil at Pirsûs-Kobanê border continues on the 12th day, Turkish soldiers have started to dig ditches in the villages of Qop, Merdsimêl and Boydê bordering Kobanê Tuesday afternoon.

Ditches are being dug in three areas, one of which is between the villages of Zehwan and Dewşen, the other between the villages of Merdsimêl and Qop, and one other near the Boydê village to the west of Kobanê.

Military officials have claimed that the ditches are being dug in order to open an area for the cars of the people from Rojava who have parked their cars along the border after not being allowed to cross into North Kurdistan together with their vehicles.

The local people in the region told that the ditches served ISIS gangs that have surrounded Kobanê from eastern, southern and western fronts, and that by means of these ditches Turkey wanted to complement the encirclement of Kobanê from north.
