Tweet Against Turkey's War against Kurds

An appeal to use Twitter and other social network to speak out against Turkey renewed war against the kurds has been launched by Kurdish bloggers and activists in Europe.

#TwitterKurds is responding to the new attacks by the Turkish army by having an Emergency Mass Tweet on Friday 19th August and all Kurdish and non Kurdish activists are urged to take part.

The appeal reads: "#TwitterKurds will not stand by in silence as Turkey declares war on the Kurdish people! Speak out! Join us at #TwitterKurds on Twitter Friday 19th August 10amGMT"

Turkey has played a psychological game with the International community and the Kurdish people, says the appeal adding that "many Kurdish people voted for AKP because they thought they were sincere in wanting a peaceful and political solution to the Kurdish Question in Turkey".

The appeal continues as follows: "Since the 12th June election and the historical victory for the pro Kurdish independents who were to form a BDP group of 36 MP's in the Turkish parliament, Turkey has showed contempt for the democratic process and exposed their real face.

Because it is now clear that AKP's plan has always been war! The Kurdish side has made every effort to prepare the ground for peace including ceasefires and Abdullah Ocalan's efforts to create a 'Peace Council' all have been ignored and now Abdullah Ocalan's circumstances on Imrali are of grave concern.

Turkey is declaring war on all fronts against the Kurdish people including pressurising Denmark to close RojTV".
