Twelve HDP members taken into custody in Izmir

Twelve HDP members have been taken into custody in Menemen and Buca, in the province of Izmir for allegedly making "propaganda for an illegal organization".

The AKP-MHP regime has accelerated the political genocide operations against Kurds and their friends after the election defeat.

Police carried out several house raids in the morning in Menemen and Buca, in the province of Izmir.

Twelve people from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Youth Assembly who had launched the campaign “Don't be Dependent, Be Free” have been detained and accused of making "propaganda for an illegal organization".

Many books and electronic devices were confiscated and those taken into custody were taken to the Provincial Security Directorate.

The names of the people taken into custody have been listed as: "Yusuf Cil, Guney Demir, Diyar Demir, Ceren Cepik, H.K. (16), Yigit Ozdemir, Gulader Ozcelik and Fatma Akgul."
