The operation for Raqqa's liberation launched by YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continues in its 69th day with new gains. SDF fighters have today cleansed the neighbourhoods Mahdi and al-Rafqa east of Raqqa of ISIS gangs.
As a result of intense clashes that took place in these both neighbourhoods, 17 gang members were killed.
After the successful liberation, SDF fighters advanced into the neighbourhoods of Rashîd and Mansur, where 2 bomb-laden vehicles and 1 motorcycle belonging to the gangs were destroyed during clashes that occurred.
In battles that still continue in Old Raqqa neighbourhood, another 6 ISIS members were killed.
In Rawda neighbourhood east of Raqqa, ISIS gangs took another toll of 4 killed members, and another 5 in al-Diriyah neighbourhood where a SDF fighter was wounded, while 3 more ISIS members were killed in al-Barid neighbourhood.
As a result of the intense clashes in Old Raqqa neighbourhood, 3 SDF fighters that put up a heroic fight fell martyrs, while 3 more fighters got wounded.
