Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters captured two of the infamous British gang members in Deir ez-Zor, New York Times reported.

Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee Elsheikh were identified with the help of US special forces after they were captured by SDF in Deir ez-Zor. Kotey and Elsheikh were members of an ISIS cell called “Beatles” along with Mohammed Emwazi (aka Jihadi John) and Aine Davis.

Emwazi was killed in an airstrike in 2015 in Syria. He was famous for appearing on propaganda videos of ISIS. He is believed to have beheaded American and British hostages.

Aine Davis is imprisoned in Turkey and he declared that he doesn’t want to be extradited to UK. He is currently facing terrorism charges.

The other two, who are believed to have taken part in torturing and execution of hostages, remained at large until they were captured by SDF fighters in Deir ez-Zor in mid January.

After a brief interrogation, SDF officials suspected that the two were of western origin and informed US Special Operation forces. The identities of the two were confirmed by the Americans, using fingerprints and other biometric measurements.

All members of ISIS’ the “Beatles” group lived in West London and were responsible of the hostages from western nations. According to the US government they are responsible of beheading 27 hostages.

A United States official spoke about the incident to the New York Times on the condition of anonymity.
