Two soldiers of the Syrian army were killed in clashes with YPG (People's Defense Units) in Sheik Maksoud neighborhood of Aleppo, the second largest city in Syria.
According to the reports by YPG sources, clashes broke out after Syrian military attempted to enter the neighborhood on Thursday. Clashes reportedly erupted early Thursday morning and lasted till afternoon.
In a statement released on Thursday, YPG Military Council of Qamişlo remarked that units of Free Syrian Army (FSA) and regime forces have been involved in clashes around the city of Qamişlo since Tuesday. YPG warned both sides to avoid spreading the war to the Kurdish city.
YPG pointed out that the conflicts between FSA and the Syrian army have greatly damaged the villages in the region. YPG said artillery shootings forced people to migrate from the region.
YPG condemned the attacks against civilians, indicating that regime forces intended to drag Kurds into the war. YPG called on the Syrian regime to end its attack, warning that they will otherwise launch reprisal attacks.
YPG noted that one YPG fighter was wounded in an attack Baath regime's army launched using heavy weapons.
YPG underlined that they would never allow any powers to enter the city, and that they would be protecting all the gains of Kurds, Arabs and Christians in Qamişlo.
