Unlimited sit in in Diyarbakir against Election Board decision
BDP Diyarbakýr Provincial Organization announced that an unlimited sit-in act will be started today in Diyarbakýr in front of BDP Yeniþehir district building to protest the Supreme Election Board's (YSK) decision to strip off Hatip Dicle of his candidacy. The act will also be joined by the Block's MPs.
Demonstrations will also be staged in Istanbul, Diyarbakýr, Bodrum and Izmir today. The actions have chosen as their slogan: "YSK, get your hand off my representative Hatip Dicle". The actions have been called to protest against the Supreme Election Board's (YSK) decision to strip off Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block's Diyarbakýr Independent MP Hatip Dicle of his candidacy.
YSK's decision on Hatip Dicle is arising reactions from various sections of society. Using the slogan "YSK, get your hand off my representative Hatip Dicle" hundreds of people will stage demonstrations in Istanbul, Diyarbakýr, Bodrum and Izmir to protest the Election Board's decision. Calls to join the protests are made BDP Diyarbakýr Provincial are made through social networks.
‘YSK STAGED A COUP'
The protest call on social networking sites points out that YSK has staged a coup by stripping off the legitimate mandate of Hatip Dicle who is among more than two thousand Kurdish politicians held in custody under the so called "KCK case". The call text, noting that YSK strips off Hatip Dicle of his candidature without showing any legal justification, said that the political interference of the AKP, which put more than 2 thousand Kurdish politicians in prisons, also has impacts on the Block's compounds in the new period. "Those blocking the MPs of the BDP are those who aim to block the way to peace and a democratic solution. Let's all together say 'stop' to YSK's coup and to war mongers" said the statement and called hundreds of people to join the acts.
The protest acts of today have chosen the slogan "YSK, get your hand off my representative Hatip Dicle". The actions will be staged at 15.00 in front of the municipality building in Amed, at 19.00 at Taksim Square in Istanbul, at 19.00 at Sakarya Square in Ankara and at 19.00 in front of the municipality building in Bodrum and at 19.00 in front of Konak old Sümerbank building in Izmir.
