The town of Upper Şêxler (Şiyux) located on the bank of Euphrates River and 45 km to the west of Kobanê has been liberated in an operation launched by the YPG/YPJ forces in the evening hours yesterday. With the liberation of the Şêxler town, all areas on the east side of Euphrates between Jarablus and Kobanê have been cleansed of ISIS gangs and taken under control.

The town has reportedly been taken under full control following fierce clashes that lasted until morning hours today.

It has also been reported that the ISIS gangs suffered many losses in the operation, while many corpses of those killed were seized by the YPG forces.

In the meantime, the ISIS gangs blew up the bridge between Jarablus and Upper Şêxler with explosives while fleeing away from the town to Jarablus.
