Victims of Turkish massacres commemorated in Cologne

A rally was held on Saturday in Cologne to pay tribute to those who were murdered in the massacres of Maraş and Roboski, as well as those murdered in prisons and currently in Rojava.

The rally to commemorate those who lost their lives in the massacres carried out by Turkey was held at Cologne Haupbahnhof Breslauerplatz.

 Jinda Deniz made a speech on behalf of FEDA (Federation of the Alevi Associations) and stated that the massacre of Maraş took place against the values ​​of organized / communal life.

Salman Ökmen from MARDEF pointed out that the massacre that took place in Maraş in 1978 continued with the State policies on the Alevis in the region. 

Former HDP deputy now in exile, Nursel Aydoğan, emphasized that the Roboski was one of the most brutal massacres and sadly shows the state's attitude against Kurds.

Aydoğan remembered Mother Teybet, who was shot dead by state forces and whose dead body left on the street for seven days amid a continued brutal military offensive and curfew in Cizre, a district of the Şırnak province.

NAV-DEM co-chair Ayten Kaplan said that the victims of Maraş, Roboski and prison massacres will never be forgotten.
