Because of fierce clashes between YPG (People’s Protection Units) fighters and ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham) gangs on the Siftek hill to the west of Kobanê yesterday, the people keeping vigil in the villages of Siwêdê and Boydê on the other side of the border spent an anxious night. The resistance vigil in the villages of Dewşen and Elîzêr, which has been frequently hit by mortar fire by ISIS gangs, continued during the night.
Heavy clashes between the ISIS gangs and the YPG-YPJ fighters on the Siftek hill to the west of Kobanê occurred yesterday night. Because of the heavy weapons used by the ISIS gangs, the earth shook, while the ululations of the women fighters of the YPJ, who have been carrying out a huge resistance, resounded in the dark night, crossing the border. Because the clashes continued until the late hours of the night, the people keeping the vigil in the villages of Siwêdê and Boydê increased their control of the border against the possible crossing of ISIS gangs. An anxious wait pervaded the area until the morning. The people, on hearing that the YPG fighters had inflicted a big blow against the ISIS gangs, celebrated the achievement of the YPG with slogans and applause.
The people keeping a resistance vigil in the villages of Elîzêr and Dewşên, to the east of Suruç, witnessed heavy clashes in the east of Kobanê. The resistance vigil was maintained by the people in the villages of Zehwan and Dewşen, where the mortars and howitzers of the ISIS gangs have landed. The youths patrolled the border on motorcycles in order to prevent ISIS gangs from crossing.
Meanwhile, prior to a march which will take place today against the attacks by ISIS gangs, the Turkish army and police have blocked the roads leading to the Mürşitpınar border gate and the village of Boydê to vehicle traffic.
