Voting begins in Turkey and North Kurdistan

Polling will last from 07:00 to 16:00 in Northern Kurdistan and Eastern Black Sea region, and from 08:00 to 17:00 in the western provinces. The results of the polling will be revealed and broadcast by media organisations as of 21:00 in the evening.
A total of 54,049,940 electorates are registered for November 1 snap election that has been imposed by the AKP ruling after its historic defeat in the previous election on June 7 when HDP achieved a great success by getting 13 percent of the votes, easily exceeding the unlawful 10 percent election threshold to enter the parliament.
While June 7 election witnessed a participation rate by 83,92, the highest rate of the near past, today's snap election is also expected to witness a similar rate.
In the meantime, the rate of participation in the snap election reached 42,3 abroad, which recorded an increase by 5,47 in comparison to June 7.
Observers will remain at the polls during the day despite Turkish Prime Minister's threats “nobody will stand by the ballot boxes” and similar official warnings by the state authorities.
The polling day has begun with bans which will last till 24:00 at night, including a disallowance for the sale of alcoholic beverages, carrying guns outside of security officials and closure of entertainment venues.
Radios and all other media organs will not be allowed to report or comment on the elections and results till 18:00 in the evening. Any kind of broadcast will be permitted as of 21:00 today.
