On the 15th day of the Kobanê resistance the commander on the western front and YPG/YPJ fighters and Fırat Volkanı fighters also fighting at the front assessed the situation for ANF.
Commander Haki Kobanê said that ISIS gangs on the western front, where their advance has been halted, were attacking in co-ordination with the Turkish state. He added: "Without the support of the Turkish state ISIS cannot survive against us."
Fierce clashes have been continuing for days on the western front. The Free Syrian Army and the Fırat Volkanı forces set up at the beginning of September are also fighting alongside the YPG against the gangs.
Haki Kobanê continued, saying: "In the last 4 days the ISIS gangs have not been able to advance," adding that they had repulsed their attacks.
'ISIS cannot enter Kobanê from the west'
Haki Kobanê emphasised that there was no way ISIS was going to enter Kobanê from the west as they had closed the door. Fighters we interviewed in their positions were determined to prevent the gangs entering Kobanê.
Siyabend Zagros, who suffered a head wound from shrapnel, had rejoined his comrades before his wound had healed and siad: "even if we are wounded we cannot abandon the fight."
Siyabend Zagros added: "as long as the YPG and YPJ fighters are here, ISIS cannot enter Kobanê."
'ISIS will only see Kobanê in its dreams!'
YPJ fighter Zinarin Zagros is one of the women fighters. She said ISIS had attacked with heavy weapons and that many of her comrades had fallen in the struggle, but added: "we will resist to the end." Her last word was to the ISIS gangs: "you will only see Kobanê in your dreams."
Fırat Volkanı fighters
Another force fighting on the western front with the YPG/YPJ is the Fırat Volkanı, set up at the beginning of September.
Abu Mikhira, an Arab fighter, said: ''We are fighting against these gangs with our Kurdish brothers and sisters. ISIS wants to create enmity between peoples, but we will defend the fraternity of peoples." He added that ISIS had no relation to Syria and that they had come from outside, and that they would continue to defend Kobanê and Syria along with the Free Syrian Army and the Kurds.
