Daily newspaper Vatan claimed a police officer in Istanbul raped a detained woman who had been taken to a police station after an identity check in an Istanbul night club.

Vatan writes that a Russian woman, P. A., was detained and transported to Taksim police station where deputy police chief in Taksim, N. K., reportedly raped the woman in the station twice.

The woman filed a complaint against the police officer who has been arrested and faces 18 years in prison on claims of "sexual assult," after prosecutors completed an investigation.
