Police officers on guard in front of the Police Department in Karliova (Bingöl) hit a 30-year-old woman who didn’t respond to the police warning to stop. The woman, seriously wounded on chest, was taken to Bingöl State Hospital.

According to information received, 30-year-old Gülistan Tosun, married with seven children, was hit by police for not responding to the warning because she didn’t know Turkish.

Reporting on the incident Turkish media tried disturbingly to absolve the police, saying that the mother of seven could have been a “suicide bomber” or could have suffered from “mental problems” and therefore represented a threat for the police.
