“We know that the Kurdish problem hasn’t been solved knowingly and willingly for many years now. We are aware that the money paid for arms, militarism, bombs and bullets go into the pocket of international imperialist arm traders and the richer they get, the poorer we women become. We do not want to hear how many people you kill every day. We want an end to the deaths. We want a equal and free life.”

PROPOSALS FOR PEACE

Women put forward the following proposals for steps towards peace;

"-We urge the government to immediately put an end to operations and to think better of the ground operation.

- We demand the restart of talks for solutions to peace and disclosure of developments with the public.

- We want the war budget to be allocated to the security measurements and employment of women, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals who suffer from hate crimes and discrimination.

- We demand the urgent release of women who are held under arrest for demanding peace and to make a life in native language.

- We demand an unconditional security for our right to education in mother language."

CALL FOR RESISTANCE

BDP Siirt MP and BDP Co-Chair Gültan Kýþanak remarked that women will continue to resist for peace, solution and democracy and called all women to the resistance for peace to end the war and deaths and to make an equal and free life.

Kýþanak said; “The government is bringing a ground operation forward in a process when we are standing very close to peace. Dialogue and negotiation is the only way to solve the Kurdish problem. The government responded to Mr.Ocalan’s all efforts with isolation. We don’t accept the isolation and war policies. We demand the initiation of an open negotiation with Mr.Ocalan and its disclosure to the public of Turkey. It is possible to end this war. The key of stopping this war is at the hand of the Prime Minister and the Parliament. We will continue to struggle until obtaining peace and brotherhood.”
