Activists of the Women's Platform in Adana have sent solidarity postcards to women prisoners in different jails to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25.
Lawyer Sevil Aracı Bek, speaking on behalf of platform activists who gathered outside a post office, said they sent the postcards to display their solidarity with the women who are currently being held in jail in relation with the Kurdish question and Gezi protests.
Women in Dersim, led by the Women's Platform and DÖKH (Democratic Free Women's Movement), are also continuing their works for November 25.
Workers of the Dersim Yaşam Women's Counseling Centre, who are performing works within the body of BDP's (Peace and Democracy Party) Dersim Municipality, are performing works to inform people and women about the day as preparations are underway for various events and activities to take place in the city on the 25th.
November 25 will this year witness various activities including forums, meetings and events in many places and areas including neighborhoods, universities, institutions and streets across the country. Thousands of women will be taking to the streets and organizing events to voice their demands and to protest against the AKP government's policies against women and impositions on the social life of women.
