Police have attacked a workers’ protest tent on Friday and 30 workers have been taken into custody in Adana.
Forty-eight workers who have been fired by Toroslar Electricity Distribution Inc. (TEDAÞ) had set up a resistance tent on March 5 demanding to be reinstated. The police have detained 30 workers claiming they illegally occupied public space and violated the Offense Law. Workers’ material and leaflets were also confiscated.
Turkish Energy, Industry and Mining Workers Union (Enerji Sen) has condemned the police attack and planned a protest against the arrests.
