Masses took to the streets in Germany’s capital Berlin today to mark 1 November World Kobanê Day in solidarity with the historic resistance that defeated ISIS in 2014.

During the rally which was promoted by internationalist groups and the Kurdish Popular Council in Berlin, Die Linke (Left Party) MP Helin Evrim Sommer, PYD Berlin representative Süleyman Raco and TJA activist Zozan Ararat addressed the crowd.

Demonstrators commended the Kobanê victory over ISIS and remembered the YPG, YPJ and SDF fighters who fell as martyrs in the war and occupation attacks of the Turkish state and allied mercenaries.
