Writer Aslı Erdoğan has said: "Especially in the beating of mothers, in the treatment reserved to mothers, we see that all the moral threshold has been exceeded in Turkey." 

Erdoğan added: "There is no respect for the dead. There is no respect for the mothers. No respect for rights. In short, there is no respect for human life."
