Seven political prisoners in Şırnak T Type Closed Prison demanded their transfer to Imralı High Security F Type Closed Prison where Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan is held. According to the information received from their lawyers, the prisoners wrote a petition to the prison administration and submitted their request for transfer.

The petitions written by Osman Fidan, Abdulbasri Ekici, Salih Kutlu, Hakan Kutlu, Abdulkerim Sevinç, Mahsun Güçlü and a prisoner whose name could not be learned were verbally rejected by the prison administration.

On 25 January, 78 prisoners in Urfa No 2 T-Type Prison had also demanded to be transferred to Imrali.
