Organization of Kurdish women in West Kurdistan Yekîtiya Star staged a demonstration in the Qenat Siwîs neighborhood of Qamişlo to condemn so-called ‘honor crimes’ as armed groups increasingly target women as a part of their warfare and as jihadist groups issue fatwas on Kurdish women.

The members of Yekîtiya Star stated that women are vulnerable to aggression from armed groups and that they must fight for freedom, democracy and equality for the peoples of Rojava.
