YJA Star guerrilla Şevin Roşna Hocaoğlu laid to rest in Amed

YJA Star guerrilla Şevin Roşna Hocaoğlu (Amara Serhat), who fell as a martyr in the air attack carried out by the invading Turkish army on the Martyr Mizgîn area of Bitlis on 12 August 2020, was buried in Amed.

YJA Star guerrilla Şevin Roşna Hocaoğlu (Amara Serhat) fell as a martyr in an airstrike on 12 August 2020 in the Martyr Mizgîn area of Bitlis, together with YJA-STAR guerrilla Asmîn Cîlo (Media Sönmez) and HPG guerrilla Kendal Baz (Sefa Kızılkaya). Her remains were taken by her family a month later.

After the DNA sample given to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute by her family matched, the family came to Van and was allowed to take her remains.

The remains of Amara Serhat were taken from the Seyrantepe Cemetery on the nameless in Tusba, province of Van and brought to her hometown Amed. Amara Serhat was buried in the family plot in Hani, province of Amed.

Only family members could attend the funeral, which was celebrated under the police blockade.
