Young people in Basel protest Turkish attacks in Kurdistan

Young people in Basel drew attention to the invasion attacks of the Turkish state with a banner saying "Chemical attacks have been continuing in Kurdistan for a hundred years" and called on all young people to take action.

Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer (TekoJIN) took to the streets to protest the Turkish state's attacks against Rojava and Medya Defense Areas as part of the "Werin Cenga Azadiyê" initiative.

Young people gathered at Basel Claraplatz on Monday evening and held a rally there. A banner saying "Chemical attacks have been going on in Kurdistan for a hundred years" in German and Kurdish was unfurled.

Young people, carrying banners with pictures of PKK and Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, also protested the Swiss state's support for the Turkish state and the KDP. During the rally, young people chanted slogans such as "Bijî Serok Apo", "Long live international solidarity" and "Bijî berxwedana guerrilla".

TekoJIN member Zîlan Dersim said: “We respectfully commemorate the martyrs of the airstrikes carried out by the fascist Turkish Republic in cooperation with the treacherous KDP on Rojava, Shengal, Maxmur and Medya Defense Areas. The European and NATO states that support Turkey are also primarily responsible for these martyrs. We, as young people from Kurdistan and internationalists, will always protest these attacks. Our call to all Kurds and internationalist young people is to support our struggle more. For this, actions must be carried out in an organized manner everywhere. We call on all young people to take action against this war in Kurdistan. We invite the young people of Kurdistan to participate in the actions and events that will take place to condemn the attacks against the Medya Defense Areas.”
