Young people in Mardin call to resist to the trustees

Members of the HDP Mardin Youth Assembly said that the greatest pressure and attacks of the trustees are actually carried out against women and youth and called on young people to take to the streets.

HDP Mardin Youth Assembly members recalled the leading role of youth and said: “Their places are always at the forefront of resistance. We call on young people to take to the streets. You can organise a noise action. And if they ban the streets, let's take the windows and then the roofs and continue our actions."

Speaking to ANF, Youth Council member Büşra Koyun said that the resistance continues in Mardin despite the trustees, and added that the appointment of trustees is an attack on women, youth and all the gains of the Kurds.

Koyun said: "As young women, we consider trustees as a continuation of the policies of the government that reflect a rape culture."

Koyun added hat they called on women and young people to protest against the trustees. 2Women and young people are the leading forces of societies. Their place is always at the forefront of resistance. Get to the streets."

Member of the HDP Youth Assembly, Hamza Yildirim, recalled the destruction policies carried out by the trustees assigned to 96 municipalities in Northern Kurdistan prior to the 31 March elections, and said: "Once again a trustee has been appointed to Mardin. We know what a trustee is, we have seen it before. Young people know that before the first trustees, there were many areas assigned by the HDP municipalities to young people.

There were areas of culture, art, education and most importantly awareness raising. We had institutions to ensure the development of young people. But the trustees launched a total attack on all of these areas. Over time, they were evacuated until they eventually disappeared."
