Youth action in Strasbourg: Stop the 3 monkeys

An action was held in Strasbourg city center on the 102nd day of the indefinite hunger strike against the isolation imposed upon Ocalan. The activists criticized the 3 monkeys attitude by Europe and called to “take action, as isolation kills."

The indefinite non-alternating hunger strike by 14 activists in Strasbourg, France against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan continues, as does the indefinite alternating hunger strike held by hundreds of Kurds in front of the European Parliament (EP) since March 25. As part of actions against the isolation in all areas, Kurdish youth held a demonstration in the city center and called for action against the isolation.

Dozens of young Kurdish members of Tevgera Ciwanen Soresger (Revolutionary Youth Movement) and Jinen Ciwanen Azad (Free Young Women) condemned the silence about the isolation.

EU FLAGS AND THE THREE MONKEYS

Four activists wore aprons with red paint on them to draw attention to the Turkish state massacres against Kurds and the youth gave a message that silence in the face of the isolation kills. The activists covered their eyes, ears and mouths in protest of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) and European institutions. The activists covering their senses wore EU flags on their persons.

APOIST YOUTH RESISTS THE ISOLATION

A speech made during the action said 14 members of the Freedom for Ocalan initiative have been on a hunger strike in Strasbourg for 102 days and pointed out that Leyla Guven has been on a hunger strike for 141 days, Nasir Yagiz for 128 days and prisoners for 103 days.

The speech stressed that the Apoist Kurdish youth is in resistance against Erdogan fascism and that the European states remain silent even in the face of deaths.

The youth activists held banners with Ocalan’s photograph on them and signs with slogans against the isolation and in support of the resistance.
