22-year-old Kerem Karaaslan has died Tuesday evening while joining a demo targeted by an armed attack in Kızıltepe district of Mardin where curfew was declared due to the growing protests in solidarity with the Kobanê resistance.

Kerem Karaaslan has lost his life on the road to the Qûbikê village which demonstrators had closed to traffic when fire was opened on them from a car the plate number of which couldn't be identified.

Thousands are not leaving streets as protests for Kobanê are going on across the district despite the curfew declared by the governor of Mardin early evening today.

Police forces staging crackdown on demonstrators are being reinforced by gendarme units.
