YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Protection Units) forces continue to inflict a heavy defeat on ISIS gangs on the 14th day of growing resistance to defend the West Kurdistan territory.
Issuing a statement about the ongoing clashes, YPG Press Centre said 55 members of the ISIS gangs were killed in fierce clashes on the eastern and southwestern fronts of Kobanê last night.
Giving information about an ISIS attack which targeted the village of Kozika on the eastern front and was carried out from three sides late yesterday evening, YPG reported that 11 gang members were ascertained killed and a military vehicle belonging to the gangs was destroyed by their forces that stroke a heavy blow on the gangs, strongly responding to the intense tank and artillery shelling and repulsing them from the region following heavy clashes.
The statement said that YPG fighters carried out an attack against the gangs deployed in the village of Şêranê, again on the eastern front, killing at least 8 members of the gangs.
According to the statement, YPG fighters also launched an offensive deployed in the rural areas of Mumanê and Minazê villages to the southwest of Kobanê last night.
YPG stated that the gangs were inflicted a heavy blow in the offensive which targeted 4 separate positions in the village of Minazê and 4 others in the Mumanê village. 36 gang members were killed and a military vehicle of theirs was destroyed in the YPG offensive.
The statement said clashes continued in Jazaa region as well, adding that YPG forces gave a strong response to the gangs that attempted an attack from the Sefanê hill at the Iraqi border to the east of Jazaa last night.
