Speaking about the Operation Cizire Storm against ISIS in Deir ez-Zor, YPG commander Eliser Agiri said that ISIS suffered huge blows and is on the verge of collapse.
In an interview with ANHA News Agency, YPG commander Eliser Agiri said that ISIS now has no strength left to fight and several ISIS members surrendered to SDF in Deir ez-Zor.
Agiri spoke about the struggle against ISIS and pointed out that SDF forces are fighting with high morale and youths from different ethnic backgrounds flock to the ranks of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) led by YPG and YPJ.
“There is a very good collective among our fighters in Operation Cizire Storm. The participation of YPJ fighters reveals the role of women in our struggle, increases the morale of our fighters and improves the atmosphere of the resistance. Our operation continues with enthusiasm and high motivation. We believe that we will be victorious and we will present this victory to the people of Syria” Agiri said.
YPG Commander noted that they have opened a 30 km-long corridor between Umar and Al-Tanaq oil fields for the passage of both civilians and fighters.
About the ISIS attacks against civilians, Agiri said: “To prevent the massacres we act very carefully and sensitive. We rescued several civilians from ISIS last week. There were a lot of people of foreign origin. When they reach liberated areas they express their commitment to our movement. Another important thing is that recently we see that a lot of ISIS members surrender to our forces”.
Agiri also provided information about the ISIS attacks against Al-Tanaq oil field and said that all attacks have been frustrated and ISIS suffered huge losses during the ensuing clashes in this region.
“ISIS is now aware that SDF is a professional force. Their statement on Betele is an open demonstration of this truth. After their attacks were all foiled, SDF fighters advanced with all their power. We will advance until the Euphrates river. We will continue to resist wherever we see ISIS barbarism and we will definitely establish a free life”, added the YPG commander.
