YPG (People's Protection Units) Press Office has issued a statement about the clashes that took place between YPG forces and ISIS gangs in Kobanê yesterday.
Stating that fierce clashes continue in the 12th day, YPG said ISIS deployed all of its Syrian forces around Kobanê and Iraqi forces in the Cizre region, adding that YPG forces displayed a historic resistance against these attacks.
YPG reported that at least 33 ISIS gang members were killed and a tank of the gangs was destroyed in the clashes on the eastern front during yesterday's clashes.
YPG said “The splendid resistance of our forces continue against the gangs that are attacking from the east, west and south of Kobanê with all their power. Despite the restricted possibilities, our forces are resisting and inflicting heavy casualties on gangs in many areas with the strength they gain from the people.”
YPG reported that fierce clashes took place in and around Alişar village to the east of Kobanê on 26 September, adding “Following day-long clashes, our forces launched an attack on the gangs in the evening hours. At least 12 gang members were ascertained killed in the offensive.” The statement noted that clashes continue in some areas.
Regarding the ongoing clashes on the southern front, YPG said their forces strongly responded the attacks of the gangs and repelled them from around the villages of Îdiq and Miştênûr. According to the statement, 21 gang members were killed, 1 tank belonging to gangs was destroyed and weapons were seized from the gang groups in clashes in the mentioned region.
Also giving information about the clashes on the western front, YPG said fierce clashes took place the all day and night around the Îzea region yesterday. YPG reported large number of gang members were killed in the clashes in this area.
