YPG launched operation in Serêkaniyê

People's Defense Units (YPG) fighters have launched "Serêkaniyê Martyrs” revolutionary operations in the Serêkaniyê region on Friday night. The operation came after YPG took the control of the Til Koçer city bordering Iraq from al-Qaeda linked gang groups one week ago.

YPG fighters rescued the Micebrê village from gang groups and seized their vehicles and weapons in last night's operation. Clashes intensified in the Mişêrfa village.

On the other hand, separate clashes broke out between YPG and the ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) in Bir Kino and Susik villages of Til Ebyad (Girê Spî) on Friday afternoon. According to the figures released by YPG Press Office, two gang militants were killed in clashes in Bir Kino and two others in the Susik village.

YPG had cleared the Til Koçer region of al-Qeada linked gang groups after a major offensive they carried out against the gang groups in Çilaxa on 27 October, as part of the “Tırbespiyê and Çilaxa Martyrs Revolutionary Operations” they had launched in Til Koçer region on 23 Oct.

YPG fighters first took seven villages and three hamlets, as well as the Til Koçer border gate (Alyarubia), and then the entire city by 27 October. As part of the same operation, YPG also cleared the regions of Rimelan and Çilaxa in Girkê Legê of gangs on 29 October.

Following fierce clashes with al-Qaeda linked groups, YPG fighters took the villages of Girhok, Yusufiyê, Sefa, Cinêdiyê, Girê Fatê and Ebû Hecer, as well as the Til Elo wheat silos used by ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) as headquarters.
