YPG takes another village in Serêkaniyê
West Kurdistan's People's Defense Units (YPG) continue the "Serêkaniyê Martyrs” operation which was launched on 1 November against the al-Qaeda linked ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) and the armed groups supporting them.
YPG fighters have today rescued the Mişrafa village, located between Haseke and Serêkaniyê, from gang groups. The village has been the twelfth one taken by YPG since the beginning of the operation.
People's Defense Units took the control of the Micêbre, Til Camûs, Katûfa Bakur, Katûfa Başûr, Edlo, Hilwa Çaçan and Til Hirmit villages, the control point in Katûfa village and the hamlets around these villages, as well as a petrol station and all control points between Serêkaniyê and the Ebu Rasen district in the first two days of the operation.
YPG fighters also rescued the Qisêr, Tildiyap, Esediye and Bir Nûh villages and seized a tank and bulldozer of the gang groups on 3 November.
