YPJ (Women's Protection Units) fighter Diyale Viyan has lost her life while receiving treatment at a hospital in the border province of Urfa.

YPJ fighter Viyan had been referred to Urfa through the Mürşitpınar border crossing and taken under treatment in a hospital after sustaining a critical injury in clashes with ISIS gangs in Kobanê on 6 October.

Viyan's body has been taken to Urfa Forensic Medicine Institution where an autopsy will be performed before delivery to the morgue at Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital, as her family is yet to be reached.
