The YSK has ruled for a recount in the local elections in Van's Ercis district where the HDP won after the AKP objected to the results.
The AKP appealed to the Supreme Board of Elections (YSK) for a recount following the HDP’s overwhelming victory in Ercis, Van in the March 31 elections.
The YSK Ercis assessed the objection in a meeting where all political parties except for the AKP signed a document that they accept the results, but a recount was still ordered on the demand of the government.
The YSK Ercis President is known for his close ties to Adnan Aydin, the district chair of the AKP.
Tensions rose in the AKP offices after HDP's election victory was declared in Ercis.
In the fight that broke out when AKP District Chair Aydin insulted their own voters, Aydin and his son were lightly wounded.
