The Kurdish student associations YXK and JXK call for participation in the "World Resistance Day" for Rojava on 2 November. The "Global Resistance Day" was initiated by the international campaign #RiseUp4Rojava. In addition, the YXK and JXK will present a dossier on the background of the war of aggression against Northern Syria, which has been waged by the Turkish army and its jihadist allies since 9 October in violation of international law.

The call for participation in the Global Day of Action for Rojava reads as follows:

“On October 9, the Turkish government under Erdogan began a war of aggression against Rojava (Kurdish: Western Kurdistan) in Northern Syria. Under the pseudonym "Operation Peace Spring" Tur- key is trying to give this invasion a positive image, but the reality is a brutal extermination campaign.

Turkey is propagating to drive "terrorists" out of the area and to settle Syrian fugitives in the "liberated" region. But the goal is very clear: to drive the Kurds completely out of the area. This is nothing else than an "ethnic cleansing", a demographic change of the region, the annexation of Syrian territories to Turkey and the aiding and abetting for the return of the so-called Islamic state. With the withdrawal of US troops and the silence of NATO, the Turkish government was given free passage to begin its war of aggression.

Since the beginning of the offensive, hundreds of people have died, including numerous fighters of the YPG (People's Defense Units), the YPJ (Women's Defense Units) and countless civilians killed by targeted attacks of the Turkish army. Despite the loss, the powerful weapons of the opponent and the silence of the western powers, the self-defense forces of Rojava (SDF - Democratic Forces of Syria) as well as their own people are offering a great and historical resistance.

The resistance of Rojava reaches the whole world: Everyday tens of thousands of people all over the world go on the streets and demonstrate, carry out actions and draw attention to the current situation in Rojava. It is important that our voices are heard. Our protest is giving hope to the people in Rojava!

We, the young people, must join to protest the peace and the preservation of Rojava. It has always been young people who have played a pioneering role. Our strength of will and our potential for change must be used for Rojava in these difficult times. Let's not forget the movement of 68. Students, young people, have led this movement to make a big difference in the world!

Join us for the "World Resistance Day for Rojava" on the 2nd of November and protest! Be creative and give Rojava a voice - because Rojava is not only of special importance for the Kurds. It is an example of grassroots democracy, gender liberation and ecology in the Middle East!
