Zana, Aydoðan and Tuðluk facing 150 years prison sentences

Three separate cases have been opened demanding  a total of 150 years imprisonment for BDP deputies Leyla Zana, Nursel Aydoðan and independent MP Aysel Tuðluk on grounds of the speeches they made before the elections and during funeral ceremonies of a guerrilla.

The accusations issued by Diyarbakýr Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and accepted by the Special Authorized 7th High Criminal Court demanded 45 years in prison for Leyla Zana on charges of "spreading propaganda for the organization” for four times, “opposing the law on meetings and demonstrations” for two times and “committing a crime on behalf of the organization despite not being a member of the organization”.

While the accusation against Diyarbakir deputy Nursel Aydoðan claimed that Aydoðan committed crime in four activities she took part in and demanded up to a total of 72 years imprisonment for Aydoðan who was charged with "spreading propaganda for the organization” and “committing a crime on behalf of the organization despite not being a member of the organization” for four times.

Van Independent MP Aysel Tuðluk was also charged with the same accusations on grounds of joining the funeral ceremony of a guerilla in Ergan district of Diyarbakýr. Up to 33 years imprisonment is demanded for Tuðluk.

Following the adoption of indictments, the trial of three deputies will start at the 7th High Criminal Court of Diyarbakýr in the coming days.
