Afrin people called on UNESCO to revise its links with Turkey

An exhibition in Serdem Camp in Shehba tells the story of violations carried out in Afrin by the Turkish state and its mercenary allies.
The exhibition opened 4 days ago in Serdem Camp in Shehba and was titled "Call of Civilization". Through photos the organisers wanted to explain and denounce the rights violations carried out in Afrin by the Turkish state and its mercenary allies.
Representatives of the Autonomous Administration attended the exhibition event and were met by an interested crowd.
A press statement was read by Selah Sîno, co-chair of the Monuments and Museums Department in the canton of Afrin.
"The Turkish state and its mercenary allies aimed at destroying not just people and their achievements but also history and culture", said the statement.
The statement drew attention to the silent of Europe in face of the cultural genocide going all as well as the occupation and the abuses against people.
The statement also underlined that the "occupying Turkish state ignored international conventions" and listed the articles violated by Turkey calling on UNESCO to review their contracts with the Turkish state in order not to destroy historical monuments.
