Fire in Tirbespiyê destroys 10,000 hectares of cultivated land

Field fires in the Tirbespiyê region of northern Syria have destroyed 10,000 hectares of cultivated land.

The fire that broke out in the Tirbespiyê region yesterday could be extinguished in the evening. In addition to fire protection units, fighters of the YPG/YPJ as well as residents of the region participated in the fire fighting. About 10,000 hectares of cultivated fields have fallen victim to the flames. YPG/YPJ units, assisted by civilians, were able to prevent the fire from reaching a gas station.

Affected by the field fires are 29 villages. The fields of the inhabitants of 18 villages are completely burnt down.

Security forces conduct investigations into the cause of the fire. The public believes that arson is behind it, causing economic damage and chaos. Turkish military and Islamists have set fire to many places in the region recently.
