With a press conference promoted by the Foreign Relations Department of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria in Qamishlo it was confirmed that 148 women and children of DAESH members have been returned to Uzbekistan.
The conference was attended by the spokesman of the Foreign Relations Departament Kamal Akef and the Consul General of the Government of Uzbekistan in the United Arab Emirates Ali Shir Solomov, as well as by a delegation from the YPJ (Women's Protection Units) of the Jazira Canton.
At the conference, reported ANHA, it was confirmed that 148 women and children of DAESH members who were living in Hol refugees camp after having surrendered to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were to return to Uzbekistan. The families had surrendered to the SDF following the defeat of DAESH by the SDF in Deir ez-Zor.
The Uzbek Consul General in the UAE thanked the Syrian Democratic Forces and all those who contributed to the liberation of women and children and their repatriation.
At the conclusion of the conference, the two parties signed the document of receipt of the families.
