A total of 624 infections with the coronavirus have been confirmed by laboratory diagnostics to date (September 4) in the self-governing areas of North and East Syria. Fifteen cases more than the day before have been registered during the past 24 hours, the health committee of the autonomous administration announced in Qamishlo on Friday. Since yesterday no other person has died in connection with the pandemic. The total number of deaths is 40 according to the current status.

The new infections with the pathogen of the novel disease Covid-19 detected in the past 24 hours were reported from Tirbespiyê (4), Hesekê (3), Dêrik (3), Deir ez-Zor (2), Girkê Legê (1), Dirbêsiyê (1) and Kobanê (1). According to the Health Committee, 158 of the cases reported so far are considered to have recovered.

In the Damascus-controlled areas of Syria, there are 2,973 cases of infection and 124 deaths, according to official figures from Thursday evening.
