After 150 fighters from Al-Sewfa and Ahrar al-Sherqiya groups separated from Euphrates Shield and joined the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in November, 250 more from the Euphrates Shield have joined the SDF ranks on Tuesday.

The fighters stated that claims of the Turkish state and gangs to liberate the region are far from reality as Turkey’s essential goal is to invade the region and revive an Ottoman era. They pointed out that all the groups under the command of the Turkish state confiscate the properties of people and engage in theft, accusing people of being linked to ISIS or the Syrian regime.

The group remarked that the sole purpose of those in the Euphrates Shield is to gain dollars, for which reason more conflicts are emerging among these groups every day.

Accordingly, more than 300 people under the Euphrates Shield were killed in Deir ez-Zor, and gang groups try to drive the refugees from Deir ez-Zor from the region.

Remarking that the Turkish army’s arguments against the SDF are claims far from the truth and are only a smear campaign, the group called on the local young people who are still under the Euphrates Shield to leave the gangs and join the SDF in order to liberate the region from neo-Ottoman invasion.
