3 more people abducted, 2 civilian women injured in Afrin

While three more civilians have been abducted in Turkish occupied Afrin, two civilians were deliberately shot and injured during clashes between mercenary groups in the Shera district.

The Turkish military and allied jihadist terrorists that occupied Afrin on 18 March 2018 continue targeting the local population in acts of crime against humanity such as pillaging, theft, abduction, torture, rape and massacre.

MORE CIVILIANS ABDUCTED

According to reports from the ground, the Turkish-backed mercenary group Sultan Murad kidnapped civilian Omer Fuat Cindiyan from the village of Dersewan in Shera district.

The mercenaries also abducted two Yazidi civilians, Saîd Xerîb (57) and his wife Xaiya Hesen (51), from the village of Ciqila Come.

The aftermath of the kidnapped civilians is unknown.

TWO CIVILIANS INJURED

On the other hand, armed clashes erupted between the mercenary groups Abu Nur Haji and Faylaq al-Majid in the Meydanke village of Shera district at Saturday night. During the fighting between the two groups, both of which are affiliated to the Turkish state, three terrorists were killed and seven others injured, while two civilian women were deliberately shot and wounded.

OLIVE TREES SET ON FIRE

The occupation forces have also been destroying the nature and habitat since their occupation of Afrin, setting fire to vast lands and fields and cutting down numerous trees.

Latest reports suggest that the Turkish-affiliated terrorist groups have set fire to dozens of olive trees in Alciya village of Shera district. In another area, the mercenaries are cutting down trees to use as firewood.

AT LEAST 123 CIVILIANS ABDUCTED IN 29 DAYS

According to ANF figures obtained from local sources, at least 123 people have been kidnapped since the beginning of September. The actual figures are guessed to be higher.

The occupation forces’ attacks against civilians have been scaled up in recent months.

Afrin is under the occupation of the Turkish state and its mercenary allies for over a year now. The attacks of the Turkish state against Afrin began on 20 January 2018 and the invasion of the city was carried out on 18 March 2018.

Since the invasion, war crimes have been systematically committed in the region. Almost every day, crimes such as the confiscation of property belonging to local people, kidnapping of civilians for ransom, torture or executions are carried out.
