77-year-old husband Menan Umer and wife Ruqeya, who have refused to leave their village despite all attacks by the Turkish state and their allied terror groups, say: “We were born and raised and will die here.”
The invading Turkish state and their terror groups derived from Al Qaeda contiue their invasion attempt against Afrin and are intensely bombing the Bilbilê district and its villages.
The bombings target residential areas directly in order to kill and push civilians out of the region, and one of the villages targeted in these bombings is the Qere Xol village in the district. There are 500 citizens who live in the village who with great will refuse to leave their lands despite all the barbaric attacks.
In the village, 77-year-old couple Menan Umer and Ruqeya are in the resistance despite their advanced age. The old couple say they want to spend the rest of their lives in the village and say that whatever happens, they won’t abandon their village to the invaders.
The old couple say, “We were born and raised in this village, and we will die here. We have memories and history in every inch of the village. We won’t abandon them to invaders and just up and leave.”
