The Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration founded last September had started organizing efforts as part of the administration areas.

In these efforts, the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration General Assembly held a meeting in the Eyn Isa district of the Girê Spî Canton to launch the 9 committees and determine their administrators.

Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration General Assembly Co-chair Ferit Etî gave the opening speech and said they as the general assembly have taken on the task to construct the committees of the Autonomous Administration.

Etî spoke about the committees’ efforts and significance. After his speech, the Interior Affairs, Education, Local Administrations, Economy and Agriculture, Treasury, Culture and Arts, Ecology and Health and Social Works and Women’s committees were declared.

Co-chairs for the committees were also determined in the meeting and the co-chairs were sworn in before assembly members, officially starting their duties.

Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration held its first meeting on September 6, 2018 and the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration General Assembly was tasked with forming the committees under the administration within 21 days.

The General Assembly meeting will conclude with speeches from the co-chairs.
